How To Choose The Right Chew Toys

Why do dogs love to chew? Because their mouths are the primary way they interact with the world they live in. Chewing is a natural canine behavior that allows them to explore the world they live in. Chew toys can help satisfy that chewing instinct.

Keep these 4 points in mind when selecting a chew toy for your pup:

1. Sure that it's a toy designed for dogs.

Avoid any toys that have any part that may hurt your dogs, such as ribbons, strings, plastic eyes or other parts that could be chewed off and/or ingested. Dog Chew Ball & Rubber Dog Toothbrush are safe alternatives for real wood or bone that won’t splinter.

2. Choose the right size.

Toys that are too small can easily be swallowed or become lodged in your dog’s throat. Find the perfect size for your pup to keep them chewing safely!

3. Choose Soft toys.

The soft toy is a safe bet for your pup. However, as with all chew toys, they should be supervised to ensure Fido doesn’t swallow any part of the toy.  Better to check all dog toy labels before purchasing them to ensure they don’t contain any harmful substances.

4. The Tug-of-War toy is a better bet.

Dog-safe rope toys are excellent for that game of tug-of-war with your energetic pup. To sure that your dog will not hurt in the games, it's better to pick a hard rubber toy that can be used in a tug-of-war.

So, what kind of chew toys would you choose for your pup?

The beauty of the right dog toy is that it can be multifaceted—both keeping them entertained and helping to alleviate behavior issues. Looking for a new chew toy for your happy pup, shop here for great toys!
